A comforting and delicious Ground Beef Stroganoff that wraps you in nostalgia and satisfaction.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces egg noodles
  • Chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat until melted and bubbly.
  2. Sauté the chopped onion for about four minutes until soft and translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  4. Brown the ground beef for six to eight minutes until fully browned.
  5. Incorporate the flour over the beef mixture and stir well, cooking for about one minute.
  6. Pour in the beef broth, stirring continuously to prevent lumps.
  7. Add Worcestershire sauce and Dijon mustard, mixing until well combined. Season with salt and pepper.
  8. Simmer the mixture for five minutes until thickened slightly.
  9. Boil the noodles in a large pot of salted water according to package instructions, usually about seven to nine minutes. Drain set aside.
  10. Stir in the sour cream until fully incorporated.
  11. Combine the drained noodles with the beef mixture, stirring gently to coat.
  12. Remove from heat and garnish with parsley before serving.

Notes

For a lighter version, substitute Greek yogurt for sour cream. Feel free to add mushrooms or spinach for extra flavor.
