Crockpot Cabbage Roll Casserole

A comforting and hearty casserole reminiscent of traditional cabbage rolls, easy to prepare in a crockpot.

Ingredients

  • 1 head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cups rice, uncooked
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Sauté the beef and onion until the meat is no longer pink, then drain the fat.
  2. Mix the chopped cabbage, cooked beef mixture, rice, crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  3. Pour the mixture into the crockpot and spread it evenly.
  4. Cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  5. Add shredded cheese on top during the last 30 minutes of cooking if desired.
  6. Serve warm and enjoy this comforting dish!

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator. This dish freezes well for about 3 months.
