Delightful dessert featuring flaky puff pastry and tender apple slices, dusted with cinnamon and sugar.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large apples (such as Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
  • 1 sheet of puff pastry
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons butter (melted)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Flour (for dusting)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into strips about 2 inches wide.
  3. Slice the apples in half, remove the cores, and then thinly slice them. Soak the apple slices in lemon juice to prevent browning.
  4. Microwave the apple slices for about 1-2 minutes until slightly softened.
  5. In a bowl, mix sugar and cinnamon together.
  6. Brush the puff pastry with melted butter. Sprinkle the sugar and cinnamon mix over the pastry strips.
  7. Arrange the apple slices along the edge of the puff pastry strips, overlapping them slightly.
  8. Carefully roll the pastry strip into a rose shape, starting from one end.
  9. Place the rose in a muffin tin and repeat with the remaining strips and apples.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve with vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of caramel for an extra treat.
