A delightful layered dessert featuring rich chocolate cake, creamy mascarpone, tart cherries, and fluffy whipped cream.

  • 1 chocolate cake (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups tart cherries (canned or fresh)
  • Chocolate shavings (for garnish)
  • Coffee (optional, for soaking the cake)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chocolate cake according to recipe or package instructions. Let it cool and cut it into small squares.
  2. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  3. Fold the mascarpone cheese into the whipped cream until well combined.
  4. Layer the chocolate cake cubes soaked in coffee, a layer of the mascarpone mixture, and tart cherries in a trifle dish or individual cups.
  5. Finish with a layer of whipped mascarpone on top, garnishing with chocolate shavings and additional cherries.
  6. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 120 minutes before serving.
